CASE STUDY - THE HOLY FAMILY SCHOOL DANNY RYAN MEMORIAL FUND

http://www.holyfamily.ngfl.ac.uk

The Danny Ryan Memorial Fund commemorates Danny Ryan, the late Deputy Head teacher at the The Holy Family Catholic School in Keighley, West Yorkshire. Every year for the last 23 years the Danny Ryan committee has organised a charity dance to raise funds for award winners. Alongside other fundraising efforts the committee decided to place a PayPal online donation button and a "Buy now" button onto their school website. The result was fantastic. Many people who could not attend the dinner dance made generous donations online whilst other people simply used PayPal to buy tickets!

Step 1.

The PayPal donate button can be seen below - parents and supporters of Danny Ryan click the button to make contributions safely and securely (PayPal is used by millions of eBay users every day).

Step 2.

Once the PayPal donation button is clicked the users are taken off to a secure connection on the PayPal site where they can use their debit/credit card or PayPal account to make payments.

Step 3.

Once the transaction is completed the end user is returned back to the school website to continue browsing.

PayPal offers a fantastic, free-to-set-up shopping cart that is great for lower volume sales. A percentage of each of your sales goes to them as fees. In addition, you can automatically take major credit card payments without setting up credit card merchant services. This saves you $300-$400 right away. However, for high volume sales you may pay less by opting for a shopping cart vendor that charges you a monthly fee rather than a percentage of your sales. http://www.infyecommercesolution.com/
